Lieutenant Commander Christensen is a native of Gig Harbor, Washington and currently resides in Papillion Nebraska. Lieutenant Commander Christensen was commissioned in 2005 through the Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps at Oregon State University and reported to Norfolk, Virginia for service on various ships as a Division Officer. Lieutenant Commander Christensen later served as the Assistant Professor of Naval Science at Oregon State University and Deputy Knowledge Management Officer at Commander, US Fifth Fleet before beginning training as a Department Head. As a department head, he served as Chief Engineer onboard USS John S McCain and Operations Officer for Commander, Destroyer Squadron 50. Following those tours he was hand-selected to be Officer in Charge of Coastal Riverine Squadron 11 det PACNORWEST and Weapons Officer at Surface Combat Systems Training Center Hampton Roads.
Following that tour, Lieutenant Commander Christensen received orders to serve as Deputy Program Manager for Missile Operations at Commander, U.S Strategic Command. He is due to retire from the Navy in July 2025. He will return home to Washington to begin serving as Senior Naval Science Instructor at Curtis Senior High School in University Place, Washington.
