Our junior enlisted go through rigorous training for months or years before starting their careers. Unfortunately, many compromise themselves and fall victim to predatory lenders. When they begin their independent, professional lives, they are not adequately equipped with the tools to succeed financially. As a result, more than one-third of military families struggle to pay bills. Furthermore, most junior enlisted personnel qualify for food stamps for SNAP benefits.
Another sensitive period in our hero's lives is when they transition from active duty to the unknown civilian world. The level of education that the military and first responders receive regarding personal finances is lacking, particularly for those members who separated before retirement.
